Here are the ten must read books that will change for life. At the end of reading them you will feel emotionally connected to every single character in the book and you will weep and sob because there is no more left to experience. I can attest to this because it has happened to me more times then I would like to admit and not just with books, I weeped at the ending of One Tree Hill and sobbed when I was able to see the happy ending of 90210 and then I felt a hole in my heart that said, “What am I supposed to do now?” And I said, “I guess I’ll just watch another show.” And now I’m hooked on Gossip Girl!
But back to books, these are the ones that changed me for the better and I am so glad that they did. Here’s a little synopsis on each book. Enjoy!!
1. The Great Gatsby
“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles
2. The Hunger Games Trilogy
In a dystopian future, the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’s young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives.

Languid hours on a private beach, gourmet dinners, and late nights of drinking kick off an idyllic week for the women and their husbands. But as a powerful hurricane bears down on the island, turmoil swirls inside the villa, forcing each of the women to reevaluate everything she knows about her friends—and herself.

P.S.- There are many more great books out there, these are just my favorite. I also have many other books left to explore. And most importantly don’t judge a book by it’s cover!
